Writing this now with very mixed emotions. I started this project to force myself into actually following through on something (one of my real weak points as a person). After posting an image a day for a year (with varying degrees of success) I can honestly say that I’ve become a better designer, and a more driven person.

During the course of this blog, life has seeped into many of my posts. 2012 has been a year of many personal ups and downs. I said goodbye to 2 very dear family members who I miss more than words can describe. But this was also the year I proposed to the love of my life and I cannot begin to explain how happy I am and how much I am looking forward to life with her.

So, I guess what I wanted to say was: anyone who has been thinking about or just talking about doing something, but has never been able to follow through on it…it’s time. Get moving…you’ll be glad you did. I know I am.

P.S. - Though it may not be every day, I do plan on posting thumbnails of upcoming projects or just things that amuse or inspire me.

Ghostbusters rebranded company logo idea - During a walk I thought that if the Ghostbusters were a real business that existed today that they probably would have changed their logo at least a few times since 1984. The 1989 revamp was definitely a misstep, but I figured that sometime along the way they would have gone public and hired an agency to redo their branding. As you can imagine, the “negative” slash through the ghost logo would have been tossed and a more modern named would have been applied to the company. Ghostbusters Global Solutions (a name that would have been shortened to its initials pretty quickly) would have emerged when the company expanded outside of North America and into the haunted global market place. A modern, geometric typeface would replace the old serif font and a diagonal red slash to reference the original red meatball. From here I can picture the boys in grey moving from the fire house into a gleaming modern skyscraper (GGS Tower anyone?) where they would manage franchises throughout the world. What do you think?
